The Art Coordination Office operates within Izmir University of Economics with the mission of making art an integral part of university life, supporting artistic production, and enriching cultural life.

Our office aims to bring students, academic and administrative staff, and art enthusiasts from outside the university together with a wide range of artistic disciplines, thereby fostering a campus culture in which art is accessible to everyone.

To this end, throughout the academic year we organize exhibitions, concerts, theatrical performances, festivals, competitions, talks, film screenings, workshops, and art trips in numerous fields, particularly painting, sculpture, photography, music, theater, cinema, literature, and traditional arts.

Through initiatives carried out under the "#ThereIsArtOnCampus" approach, our students and all participants engage with art as part of daily life through free and easily accessible events. In addition to events held on campus, we also follow cultural and artistic organizations within the city, across the country, and internationally, developing collaborations on behalf of our university and bringing high-quality art events to our campus.

The Art Coordination Office is not merely a unit that organizes artistic events; it is also a coordination center that supports students with artistic talent, connects them with art institutions and professionals, manages art scholarship processes, and encourages their cultural development.

Through high-quality cultural and artistic activities offered to the public free of charge, in line with our university's sense of social responsibility and forward-looking vision, the cultural interaction between the university and society is strengthened, helping art reach wider audiences.

The office continues its work as a strategic coordination unit that supports the university's national and international visibility and adds value to our students' academic, professional, and social development.

#ThereIsArtOnCampus

"#ThereIsArtOnCampus" is a cultural and art project carried out by the Izmir University of Economics Art Coordination Office, aiming to make art an inseparable part of campus life.

The project's core objective is to ensure that our students engage with art on a regular basis, to facilitate young people's access to cultural and artistic events, and to make art a natural part of everyday campus life. In this way, in addition to their academic lives, students can access high-quality events free of charge that help them develop an aesthetic perspective, experience different disciplines, and enrich their cultural knowledge.

As part of #ThereIsArtOnCampus, exhibitions, concerts, theatrical plays, film screenings, talks, workshops, festivals, and live performances are held free of charge at our university in many fields, including painting, sculpture, photography, music, theater, cinema, dance, literature, and traditional arts. Events are held in easily accessible venues on campus in a way that complements students' class schedules, allowing art to be experienced as an integral part of everyday university life.

One of the most important features of the project is that art is open not only to members of the university but also to the public. A significant portion of the events organized are offered free of charge to public participation, allowing the campus to contribute to city life with the identity of a cultural and art center. In this way, a strong cultural interaction is established between the university and society, supporting art's reach to wider audiences.

Beyond bringing art to campus, #ThereIsArtOnCampus is a sustainable cultural-art movement that positions the university as one of the centers of cultural production, creative thought, and artistic exchange. We believe that a campus that lives with art not only offers a richer university experience but also contributes to the formation of a more empathetic, more creative, and stronger society.

Message from the Art Coordinator

Universities are not only institutions that produce knowledge; they are also living spaces where thought, creativity, and cultural development are nurtured. Art is one of the most powerful forms of expression within this life. It allows people to develop different perspectives, build empathy, gain aesthetic sensitivity, and create freely.

As the Izmir University of Economics Art Coordination Office, our goal is to make art a natural and indispensable part of campus life, and to connect our students, academic staff, and administrative staff with the transformative power of art. Through events spanning a wide range of fields—from painting to music, theater to cinema, and photography to traditional arts—we aim not only to create a cultural environment but also to strengthen a university culture that produces, questions, and shares.

We believe that art nurtures not only individual development but also social solidarity and cultural interaction. For this reason, we organize a significant portion of our events to be open to public participation, contributing to the establishment of strong cultural ties between our university and the city.

We believe that every one of our students carries creative potential waiting to be discovered, and we continue to produce projects that support, encourage, and give visibility to that potential. Because art is not merely something to be watched—it is a value to be experienced, shared, and multiplied together.
