      1 How can I contact the Dean of Students Office?

      First of all, you can reach us in person by coming to our room (Z27) in the main building, by calling us at 02324888192, by mailing us at deanofstudents@izmirekonomi.edu.tr or by visiting the wishes and suggestions section on our website (https://dos.ieu.edu.tr.).

      2 What are the activities carried out and services offered by the Dean of Students Office?

      The Dean of Students Office includes “Health, Culture and Sports Directorate”, “Career Guidance Center”, “Alumni Relations Office” and “Student Guidance and Support Center”.

      3 Where can I get information about scholarship opportunities?

      For requests and questions regarding scholarship opportunities, you can visit the office of the Health, Culture and Sports Directorate on the ground floor of Block E or send an e-mail to sksm@ieu.edu.tr

      4 Are there tryouts for the school teams?

      At the beginning of each academic year, team tryouts are held for all branches in order to create equal opportunities for students. The tryouts are conducted under the supervision of the Sports Coordinatorship with expert coaches.

      5 How can I benefit from the National Athlete Scholarship?

      During the university preference period, an announcement is made on the web page of our University for National Athlete Scholarship applications. Applications must be made within the specified date range. The application and admission is completed before the university preference is made.

      The application result is notified to the candidate student via e-mail and phone by the Health, Culture and Sports Directorate.

      In the application, it is necessary to have completed the documents required by the Ministry of Youth and Sports for the National Athlete Scholarship. You can access the documents via the link below.

      6 In which areas the Disability Support Center provides assistance?

      The Disability Support Center helps you in cases related to your health problems that prevent your education life in academic or social areas. You can get support from the Disability Support Center in cases of chronic diseases (diabetes, asthma, etc.), speech/language disorders, intellectual disability, temporary disabilities, learning difficulties, developmental problems, physical disability, visual impairment, attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder, hearing impairment, psychiatric/psychological problems, with a document stating your disability status of 20% or more, which you have received for permanent or temporary reasons. The Disability Support Center works to ensure equal opportunity in education. As a result of interviews related to your disability status and related requests, after determining your personalized adaptations regarding the course, exam and homework practices you may need during the academic semester, the necessary information is conveyed to your academic advisors and your requests are shared, paying attention to the principle of confidentiality.

      7 What does the Student Council do?

      The Student Council is a democratically elected student organization representing the students at Izmir University of Economics. Its duties include defending educational rights, supporting health, sports and cultural activities, ensuring communication between the university administration and students, sensitizing students to national interests, supporting students in career and employment issues, contributing to academic processes and organizing various activities. The Student Council gathers student opinions through student representatives and tries to make university life better.

      8 Who can benefit from the Psychological Development and Counseling Center? How can I apply and is there any fee?

      The Psychological Development and Counseling Center (PDCC) provides psychological support services for the individual, social and academic development of Izmir University of Economics students. The center works on an appointment system. You can come to the PDCC offices or send an e-mail to psikolojikgelisim@ieu.edu.tr to make an appointment. All services provided at PDCC are free of charge and all students registered at Izmir University of Economics can benefit from them.

      9 I want to start a student club, what should I do?

      • In order to establish a student club, at least 20 students must apply to the Health, Culture and Sports Directorate with an official petition as founding members.
      • Students, who wish to establish a club apply by preparing the administrative and functional principles, and the outline of the annual activity plan. Applications are approved by the Health, Culture and Sports Directorate.
      • It is suggested that one administrative/academic personnel of the IUE act as advisor to each student club. The Health, Culture and Sports Directorate must be notified of these advisors upon the formation of the clubs.
      • The Coordination Committee considers club applications and decides about the establishment of clubs with similar interests and purposes.
      • Club applications are completed within 4 weeks from the beginning of each academic year. Applications received after this date will be considered for the next academic year.
      • Any club closed down/discontinued for any reason by the decision of Clubs Coordination Committee, cannot be re-established for 2 academic years. The president of a club closed down/discontinued cannot be re-assigned to another club.
      • Clubs, which meet the following terms during one academic year, can continue their activities the following academic year. These terms are: organizing at least 2 activities conforming to the objective and goals of its establishment, holding at least 3 executive committee meetings, and having at least 20 members.
      • Clubs that have specific purposes (sports etc.) are established after obtaining the opinion and approval of the relevant experts and units.  

      10 Which sports activities are carried out at your university?

      All sports activities at Izmir University of Economics are carried out by the Sports Coordinatorship which is located in Block E Ground Floor Health, Culture and Sports Directorate Office. For up-to-date announcements, you can follow the ieuspor Instagram address of the Sports Coordinatorship.

      Izmir University of Economics Sports Teams participate in sports competitions organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation. In addition to Sports Teams, sports tournaments and events are organized for individuals with sedentary life styles to engage in sports activities under the roof of a healthy campus.

      There is a Fitness Center (EKOFIT) locted in the E Block -1 basement floor, which students and staff can benefit from free of charge. You can register via the link below to become a member.

      11 Are there auditions to get into the band?

      Music band auditions are held at the beginning of each academic year. Announcements regarding auditions are made on the University bulletin boards and via webmail.       12 Is it possible to work part-time on campus?

      The opportunity to work part-time within at the University is available for every student. You can get paid for working 15 hours a week for a total of 60 hours a month in the units within the University.

      13 What are the activities carried out at the Career Guidance Center?

      Career Guidance Center operates in the fields of Career and CV Counseling, Personal and Professional Development Trainings, Internship Processes.

      14 Where can I get information about internship application?

      For your internship applications, you can get information from the Career Guidance Center office or by sending an e-mail to staj@ieu.edu.tr.

      The Career Guidance Center office is located in Block A, ground floor, office number Z28.

      15 Where can I get information about the activities carried out by the Alumni Relations Office?

      As the Alumni Relations Office, we carry out events, trainings, projects and various activities in order to strengthen and maintain communication with alumni and students.       16 What is the Student Guidance and Support Center? How can I contact this center?

      The Student Guidance and Support Center was established to identify the reasons why students drop out of school by analyzing the relevant data and to make improvements to keep students in the system within the scope of the studies carried out to solve the educational, social, cultural and economic problems of students.
