THEY WILL DESIGN SPACES FOR ARTISTS

Technical field trips organized by Izmir University of Economics, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design enable students for onsite learning.

Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design sophomore students have organized a technical field trip to Kuşadası Saray Restaurant as part of their Design Studio course.  The students will work on transformation project of the location during 2011-2012 Academic Year Fall Semester. The students will design spaces for artists like Ben Harper, Duman, Mehmet Aksoy, and Jamie Kennedy, where they can have workshops with different age groups such as the elderly and the children.

45 students have gone on the field trip organized by Head of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Asst. Prof. Dr. Deniz Hasırcı, faculty members Didem Özdel, Sedef Menteşe Akad, Zeynep Edes, Rana Vanlı Ballar, Korhan Sargıner, İpek Kaştaş, Melis Kavvas and student assistant Bilge Merve Fidan. Students had the opportunity to do technical measurements, take pictures and gather building survey information about their projects.

 Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design students have drawn plans, sections and interior walls of the restaurant and prepared their presentations after the field trip.
